Cyprus Turkish Association of Managers (Kıbrıs Türk Yöneticiler Derneği)
About Us
The Cyprus Turkish Association of Managers (CTAM) was established in 1998 by a team led by Dr. Bülent Kanol who attended a series of Management Trainings organized by the University of Pittsburgh and were supported by the Fulbright Commission. The main objective of the Association, besides its overall objectives as stated in it’s Vision and Mission, was to set the foundations for a Management Centre in Cyprus. Consequently, The Management Centre (MC) was launched in November 2001 with a grant provided by UNDP-UNOPS. In a short time, the Management Centre (www.mc-med.eu) achieved some important successes, and the execution of the Centre was transferred, through a General Assembly decision and a written agreement, to the Management Centre of the Mediterranean (MC-Med), which was registered as a non-profit professional corporation in December 2003.
The Cyprus Turkish Association of Managers experienced a dormant period until
2007 due to the transfer of its executive staff to the MC. Later on, in
partnership with the MC, CTAM re-organized itself and implemented its second
UNDP-ACT (www.undp-act.org)
funded project titled “Volunteer Network” resulting in the formation of a
Volunteer Center (www.volunteercyprus.org)
within the Association.
In April 2009, in partnership with the NGO Support Centre (www.ngo-sc.org)
based in the Greek Cypriot community, the CTAM signed a contract with the
European Commission to implement a two year project entitled ‘Celebrating
Volunteerism and Diversity Across Cyprus’ under the financial aid package
for the Turkish Cypriot community.
In December 2009 the CTAM, as a sole entity signed their second European
Commission funded contract to implement the ‘Internship Placement Centre’
project across the Northern part of Cyprus.
The CTAM is a member of the Cyprus NGO Network, supports the
Bicommunal Peace Initiative across the island and the Sustainable
Environment Platform.
